Fund training for a Helper volunteer

Price: £20.00

Having someone to chat to over a cup of tea, help getting to an appointment or run an errand, or just being there to listen when someone needs a friendly ear.

That’s where our Helper volunteers come in – we match those that need it with a dedicated volunteer who’ll spend up to three hours a week visiting them at home or talking over the phone.

Marie Curie Helper volunteers are provided free of charge. Your gift helps train these valuable volunteers. The more volunteers we have, the more people will get the help they need, no matter where they live in the country.

100% of profits from every product goes towards providing high quality care to people with terminal illnesses in their own homes.

When you send a loved one a Gift that Matters, they'll receive an email with your personalised message. We'll send it out either straight away or whenever you want. Along with your message they'll get a link to their gift.

This goes to a beautiful page showing exactly what your gift is and how it helps us. There's a message from one of our Marie Curie Nurses, and a story from someone who's been helped by the gift you're sending.

Sending a Gift that Matters is simple. Just follow these three easy steps and we’ll do the rest.

  1. Write a message to the special someone you're sending the gift to.
You can add your own message to your gift and let them know it's from you.
  2. Fill in their email address and click 'Checkout' to buy your gift.
Just like any other item in our shop, your gift will go in your basket for you to buy.
  3. We'll send your gift for you.
We can send your gift straight away or on a date you specify.

Without the Marie Curie Hospice, my mum wouldn't have had the dignity and simply amazing care that she received in the last six months of her life. The staff were so kind and thoughtful.
